We are pleased to announce that construction of Building 5 & Building 7 at Broadway Tech Centre will proceed as planned and that the project has been awarded to Dominion Construction Inc. The buildings will be three stories each with approximately 25,000 square foot floor plates. Please click here and refer to the site plan for the location of the buildings.

Demolition work is scheduled to begin April 1st, 2008 and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2009.  Access to the existing parkades will not be interrupted during construction and the sports courts will remain open. Most access to the construction site will occur via Hebb Avenue, but Virtual Way will be used when necessary. During these specific instances, we will endeavor to provide as much notice to tenants as possible and flag-persons will be utilized for public safety. Virtual Way is expected to open to thru traffic in late April, to coincide with initial occupancy at Building 1 (2925 Virtual Way).

We confirm that Bits & Bytes CafĂ© and Broadway Tech Flex will close March 28th, and that the Tenant Conference Room will close March 31st.  The new fitness facility and conference room were originally intended to open on April 1st; however, they are now tentatively scheduled to open May 15th, due to unanticipated permit delays. We apologize for the inconvenience to our tenants.

The Bread Garden is expected to open for business June 1st. We have arranged for Reel Appetites Inc. to provide food services to the campus through April and May. We plan to set up their mobile kitchen in the plaza area adjacent to the sports courts. Reel Appetites has catered on movie locations since 1984 and has served such “stars” as Sean Connery, Harrison Ford, Sharon Stone and Halle Berry.

The construction progress will be updated frequently here on the website.  In addition to updates, we will post a “Frequently Asked Questions” link in the near future.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Property Management, via ClikFIX at 1-866-254-5349.
